Excursion is not only the information you hear, it is also communication, culture sharing, local lifehacks, jokes and fun.
Also, I love books, movies, traveling, storytelling and of course, my city. I am eager to show you the city. Be my guest, be my friend and welcome to Moscow!
What to expect
Moscow Metro is a must-see place, here is why:
The beauty of it
Statues, mosaics, paintings ... is it a gallery? No, this is just a Moscow Metro station! Each station is not like the other, each one has its unique design, its own history and secrets. During the previous century the station was constructed and great attention was paid to the decor, which looks magnificent and symbolic. I bet, you will not be disappointed.
Back in the USSR
The Metro mainly is a product of the Soviet period. The central stations, which are the most beautiful and which you will visit, were built in the times of Soviet Union. Many of them still have Soviet images, slogans, symbols. These stations remember Joseph Stalin himself and other Soviet leaders. Cold war also left its mark on Moscow metro as deep stations were constructed to serve as a bomb shelter in case of atomic attack. If you are interested to know more about the USSR – welcome aboard!
Riding like a Russian
For Muscovites the Moscow Metro is a part of a daily routine. So on this tour you will feel like a Muscovite. You will learn how to navigate in Moscow Metro, go down the escalator, drive in the subway car, make a transfer from one line to another, 100% like a local. If we are lucky, we may even catch the rush hour, that is quite an experience ;)
