Meet your activity leader: Maru
Hi! My name is Maru. I have a degree in linguistics and I'm a professional interpreter and an experienced language assistant. I love travelling and I've been to many countries around the world, now I would like to open up my own city for everyone who has a desire to get to know it better. Also I'm a singer, lyricist, songwriter and just a huge music lover. I've been working as a featured vocalist and a lyricist with musicians from all over the world, taking part in jazz, pop, rock and EDM projects. Now I'm working on my own solo songs, writing lyrics both in English and in Russian. Together with my friend we've made our first musical and hope to stage it soon. So I would like to show you the music life of Moscow and to make you feel its unique music spirit.
What to expect
Moscow is a big city and every day there are hundreds of concerts and gigs happening here. It's pretty easy to find tickets to famous shows of popular artists, known all over the world. But there are lots of brilliant musicians who you've never heard of but who will kill you with their talent, charisma and energy. Every week there are different events in the city: from folk and ethno music to indie and rock concerts, from jazz to pop and dance music, from classical music to avant-garde, different festivals, concert and dance parties (for example, in total darkness), open mics and karaoke in English, jamming in time-cafes and at private parties in apartments. All these things are often hidden from the eyes of a regular tourist. I'm going to introduce you to the music life of the capital.
